1 Peter 1:8 – Verse of the Day 3/13/13

1 Peter is a letter written to early Christians experiencing persecution. The first chapter, the home of this verse, opens the letter by describing the certainty and the glory of salvation in Christ. The glorious hope of salvation gave the persecuted early Christians joy, just as it continues to comfort us today. Faith in Christ leads to hope and joy.

Do you ever struggle with uncertainty or lack of joy? Spend some time in prayer reflecting on the gift of God’s presence, and thinking about what it will one day be like to fully see Christ in all his glory. Ask God to help you experience His presence in the way He has promised.
