2 Corinthians 7:4 – Verse of the Day 5/11/13

2Corinthians7-4

This verse concludes a long passage where Paul exhorts the Corinthians to separate themselves from evil. Here Paul expresses his confidence that the Corinthians will faithfully receive and follow his instructions. To encourage them, he speaks of his own joy in the midst of affliction, one of the primary themes of the letter as a whole. Paul overflowed with joy in the midst of difficult circumstances because of his belief that God works all things for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28).

How do you respond in the midst of difficult circumstances? God promises to care for you at all times, and he even promises to use life’s trials for your ultimate good. As you pray, thank Him for this promise and consider how you might respond when faced with future difficulties.
