Acts 2:28 – Verse of the Day 3/6/13

Acts2-28

In this verse, Peter quotes from Psalm 16 as he gives “first Christian sermon” after receiving the power of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Peter boldly claims that Jesus was the one of whom David spoke, that his presence would never leave his followers, and that these realities are cause for rejoicing. Jesus has been raised from the dead and believers can never be separated from his presence. The result should be great hope, which comes from knowing the path of life.

What gives you hope when you are in the midst of trouble or uncertainty? Peter tells us that our only true hope is found through faith in the risen Jesus, and that we can find comfort in his presence which never leaves us. Spend some time in prayer, giving thanks for the presence of Christ in your life.
