Psalm 105:3 – Verse of the Day 5/19/13

Psalm105-3

Psalm 105 is a historical song that recounts the mighty acts of God from the time of the patriarchs to the entrance to the promised land. The central theme of the song is God’s faithfulness to his covenant promises. This Psalm is quoted at length in 1 Chronicles 16, a description of worship in the Temple. As a result we can conclude that singing about God’s special care for his people was a regular part of Old Testament worship and an inspiration to rejoice.

The very name of God is glorious, and it is a name given to every one who believes in Him. The great promise of God is that we will all share in His glory. As you pray, rejoice in this wonderful truth, and consider that the God of heaven and earth would allow us to share in His glory!
