Psalm 107:9 – Verse of the Day 1/16/14

Psalm 107 is a song of thanksgiving for God’s salvation. The people of Israel sang it while they offered sacrifices to the Lord for their sins. In this verse, the Lord not only offers the forgiveness of sins, but he replaces our sinful desires with holy and good ones. This truly is a cause for joy and thanksgiving.

While it is true that God has forgiven our sins through faith and given us new hearts that long for him, we continue to struggle with sin and temptation. Pray that the Lord would open your eyes to see how only His way can satisfy the soul. Ask the Lord to help you believe that He alone is that path to true life, and that the ways of the world that seem so attractive are in fact paths that lead to death.  Praise God that He has called you to a living faith filled with good things!
