Psalm 28:7 – Verse of the Day 3/25/13

Psalm28-7

Psalm 28 is a psalm of lament. It opens with David’s cry to God in the midst of his enemies, moves secondly to a call for justice, and finally concludes with praise. David confidently believes that God will hear him and he trusts that he will care for him. This verse emphasizes the basis of that trust with strong imagery, and it is David’s certainty of God’s care that leads him to praise.

While David frequently thought in the images of war, perhaps there are other images that are more powerful for us. God was David’s trustworthy shield, what is he to you? Spend some time in prayer, considering the best image to capture the certainty of God’s presence and care. Give Him thanks for his trustworthy protection.
