Psalm 56:3 – Verse of the Day 3/10/13

Psalm 56-3

David wrote Psalm 56 when his enemies once again surrounded him. Based on the Psalm’s superscript it is possible that he wrote it during the time when he was forced to fake insanity in order to escape from the Philistines in Gath (1 Samuel 21:10-15). At any rate, David confesses his need for God, and therefore places his trust in him. David is certain that God can save him, and therefore is worthy of his trust.

Do you believe that God alone can save you? Does his promise to do so lead you to wonder and praise Him for his infinite care and mercy? As you pray, give God thanks for His promise to be with you at all times – especially when you are afraid.
