Isaiah 12:4 – Verse of the Day 8/6/13
After the account of Isaiah’s calling in the first few chapters of the book, chapters 7-12 are the first prophecy of Israel and Judah’s judgment at the hands of Assyria. Whereas Isaiah sounds a critical note for the pride of Israel and he does not spare any words in relating the judgment on the northern tribes, he ends his prophecy regarding the southern tribes in Judah on a more positive note. Here he calls the people to praise God for his promise of restoration.
Just as God called the people of Judah to praise Him for his work of national restoration, He calls us to praise Him for His work of spiritual restoration. As you consider the fact that God has brought us from death to life through faith in our risen savior, give Him praise and thank Him with a grateful heart for this great work of salvation!
