1 Chronicles 16:8 Verse of the Day 11/7/13

This verse is the first line of David’s song of thanksgiving when the Ark of the Covenant was returned to the city of Jerusalem. His words would have been a comfort both to his contemporaries and to the people of Israel as they read the account after the exile. Just as David rejoiced at the return of the Ark of the Covenant, the people of Israel rejoiced at their return to the Promised Land. David also invites us to rejoice at the blessings of God.

Just as the people of God rejoiced at God’s blessing, so should we. God was faithful to his covenant promises, faithful to restore His people to the Land, and He will be faithful to bring us to Heaven as well. Spend some time in prayer, rejoicing for God’s promises and His provision. Thank God with joy for his acts of faithfulness to you in the past, and his promises to be faithful in the future.
