1 Thessalonians 3:9 Verse of the Day 10/20/13

 
This verse comes as the climax of Paul’s response to Timothy’s encouraging report about the church in Thessalonica (3:6-10). Paul tells the Thessalonian believers that he loved them so much that their perseverance in the midst of persecution was a chief source of encouragement when he himself underwent persecution during his missionary travels. Paul rejoices at the God work that God has done in their lives, and promises to continue to pray for their further growth in the faith.

As you pray, ask the Lord to give you the same passion for salvation and the same heart for His people that Paul displayed in this passage. Ask the Lord to give you a full sense of the amazing gift of your salvation, and a heart that longs to share that salvation with others.
