Isaiah 29:19 – Verse of the Day 3/23/13
Much of the first two-thirds of the book of Isaiah consists of a series of prophecies of judgment, and chapter 29 itself is situated in the midst of a series of “woes.” Not very good news! And yet verses 17-24 are a picture of hope for the future. In spite of the imminent judgment Isaiah offers a hope for the future. God promised to one day restore the blessing of His presence to His people.
Do you allow the experience of daily circumstances to determine your outlook on life? God has been faithful to his promises in the past and he can be trusted to be faithful in the future. Spend some time in prayer thanking God for the eternal hope that comforts us in the midst of all life’s difficulties.
