Isaiah 30:29 – Verse of the Day 8/26/13
Much of the book of Isaiah alternates between passages of prophetic judgment for those who reject God and passages of promise for the remnant of Israel that keep faith. For those who reject God, even though they are members of Israel, Isaiah says “Woe to the obstinate children (30:1), but to those who maintain their trust in the Lord, verses such as this one apply. The Lord’s faithful will one day rejoice, not because of anything they have earned, but because of the Lord’s faithfulness to His covenant promises.
God is faithful to His promises and He is worthy of our trust. Consider how you might respond in faith, and spend some time in prayer before the Lord asking for the strength to respond in those ways. Praise the Lord with gladness in your heart because of what He has done for us!
