Isaiah 40:29 – Verse of the Day 10/5/13
The larger context of this verse entails a series of reflections regarding God’s power to restore His people (40:12-44:23). In the verses immediately and preceding and following this verse, Isaiah answers skeptics who doubted that God really possessed power over the nations who had oppressed Israel. This verse offers power to the faint, and strength that comes through faith in God.
We are frequently tempted to doubt God’s power, especially when our immediate circumstances are difficult. Pray that God would remind you of His strength, that He has power over all things, even death, and that that He loves you dearly. Take comfort knowing that God is in control over all things and He will protect you and ensure that you reach your eternal home.
