Jeremiah 33:6 – Verse of the Day 9/1/14
Can you remember a time when something you hoped for ended up being much, much better than you expected? In the Bible, low expectations are one of the most constant problems of God’s people. We only hope for earthly health and prosperity, but God promises much more.
This promise in the book of comes right after we learn that he was imprisoned for speaking God’s message. The people did not like his message of judgment for unfaithfulness, so they put him in jail. Yet Jeremiah also promised that God would restore those with faith in Him. Although Israel experienced consequences for her lack of trust and disobedience, this verse makes it clear that God would not ultimately reject those who placed their trust in Him and turned to Him in repentance. The reward for faith is an eternal home much better than even an earthly land.
Although we deserve judgment for our sin, God promises to heal us eternally if we repent and believe. What a glorious promise! Spend some time in prayer repenting for your sin and thanking God for this promise to forgive. Take comfort in God’s promise of eternal prosperity and security.
Amen I'm healed
