John 10:10 – Verse of the Day 7/13/13

 
In John 10 Jesus teaches that he is the Good Shepherd, and that his sheep know his voice and follow him. In this verse Jesus speaks of abundant life, and in the immediately preceding verse he speaks of salvation. For Jesus an abundant life is one lived in light of salvation, and it belongs to all those who hear his voice and respond in faith. This salvation is so certain that no one can ever take it away.

As you pray, give God thanks that by his mercy you have heard his voice. Ask God to help you follow him and to seek the abundant life that comes from doing so. Take comfort in the fact that the salvation that comes from God is something that can never be taken away from those who truly hear God’s voice.
