John 14:1 Verse of the Day 11/6/13

This verse opens Jesus’ words of comfort to his disciples in John 14:1-16:33. Jesus knew his trial and death would happen soon and so He both reiterated and clarified his identity and mission to his followers. Rather than focus on his own needs, Jesus instead turned his attention to his disciples’ fear. Just as God is trustworthy, so is Jesus, who is fully God himself.

God tells us to trust Him when our hearts are troubled. Spend some time in prayer considering the aspects of life that presently difficult for you. Give them to the Lord and ask Him to help you to trust Him in those areas. We have no need to fear, because we know that God will ultimately make all things right through the work of our savior, Jesus.
