Proverbs 29:25 – Verse of the Day 7/21/13
This proverb comes at the conclusion of a series of ten related proverbs in chapter 29 (verses 16-27). The first half of this section (verses 16-21) recommends that a young person be faithful both in his household and public affairs, and the second half (verses 22-27) warns a young person to be wary of a variety of evildoers. Instead of placing our trust in others, this proverb encourages us to place our trust in God.
In what or whom is your trust? Spend some time in prayer asking God to help you to trust him before all others. As you pray, consider areas of your life where your trust may be in people or things rather than God. Ask the Lord for help in these areas.
