Psalm 100:1 – Verse of the Day 4/25/13

 
This verse opens one of the most well-known “kingship” psalms. The reason the psalmist can command all the earth to praise the Lord is that God is King over all the earth. God is the King of all people, whether they are self-consciously aware of it or not.

Although in our better moments we recognize God for who He is and worship Him as King, too often we forget and live as if we serve some other king. Spend some time praising God for who He truly is – the only true King of the creation. As you praise Him, spend some time reflecting on how you might respond to this reality; are there areas in your life where you have not acknowledged God’s authority? Take comfort knowing that you can rely upon God’s rule in all areas of life.
