Psalm 103:8 – Verse of the Day 1/11/14
Psalm 103 is a song of thanksgiving for God’s gracious provision for His people. The psalmist’s gratitude leads him to praise God for all he has done, and especially for his great works of redemption. This verse helps to initiate a series of reflections about God’s Fatherly care for His people, a care characterized by mercy, patience, and love. As the psalmist reflects on these characteristics he is moved to worship God, and he invites us to do so as well.
As you pray, consider God’s great mercy, patience, and love. Call to mind specific instances where you have required God’s forgiveness, and thank God for his infinite mercy and the sacrifice of Christ on our behalf. Worship the Lord who has redeemed us and made us His people.
