Psalm 56:4 – Verse of the Day 7/23/14
Has there ever been a time when you felt completely surrounded by bad circumstances, bad people, or your own bad desires? Where did you look for comfort?
God promises to be with us always, and to give us the strength to withstand any circumstances while we wait for Him. David wrote this psalm at a time when he was completely surrounded by enemies and had no earthly hope of deliverance. In spite of his terrible circumstances, here he expresses his confidence in God. There is no reason to fear because nothing and no one in this world can separate us from God’s love.
God promises that we can trust Him, and that nothing lies outside His control. He promises to protect us, to use earthly troubles to build our character, and ultimately to save us eternally. Thank God for this promise, and pray that you would trust Him enough to wait patiently for his deliverance when you are tempted to fear.
