Psalm 71:8 – Verse of the Day 8/18/13

 
As indicated by verse 9, this Psalm was written from the perspective an older man weary of persecution. The memory of God’s grace and provision in the past was one thing able to sustain him. As a result his “mouth is filled with praise,” and he places his trust in the Lord for future provision as well.

Spend some time in prayer thanking God for his provision of mercy. Thank God for the gift of Jesus and his gracious death in your place. Pray that you would trust the Lord in the future because of His faithfulness in the past.
