Romans 12:10 – Verse of the Day 6/13/12

 
Romans 12 is an extended reflection upon how Christians should live “in view of God’s mercy” (12:1). The assumption of this verse is that the church is the household of God (1 Timothy 3:15). Therefore the author exhorts us to love one another as members of the same family. The individual effects of the Gospel have consequences for our relationship with others as well.

The Bible instructs us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, and part of that offering includes loving our brothers and sisters in Christ. Spend some time in prayer considering the sacrifice of Christ on your behalf, and consider how your thankfulness for Christ’s sacrifice might lead to live sacrificially for others.
