This year, we’re rounding up some of our favorite bloggers to get their thoughts on faith and family. We asked them:
What Does Christmas Mean To You?
Danika of Thinking Kids
Christmas for me is a special time to concentrate on Christ’s incarnation — fully God and fully human. I see it as a time to remember his undeserved grace upon my life, and a reminder to love those around me in a sacrificial way.

As Christians, we celebrate Jesus’ birth at Christmas time. We do focus on the fact that December was likely not Jesus’ birth in a historical sense and that we should celebrate Jesus all the time, not just in December.
Christmas time provides a time to have family fun and traditions and time to spend with family we don’t see as often.
Aurie of Our Good Life
Christmas is pure magic. The idea that God sent his precious child into a world that was full of sin gets me every single time. That by Jesus’ sacrifice we are adopted into his family and given a full pardon and forgiveness of our sins is amazing. A tiny babe changed the course of the world, and that is Christmas to me.

Christmas is hope. It’s the hope and promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. It’s the hope of a personal relationship with a God who loves us deeply.
What verse do you focus on at Christmastime and why?

Isaiah chapter 53 is generally used to celebrate the Resurrection, but I think it’s a wonderful chapter to remember during Christmas as well. After all, the wonder of Jesus’ arrival is that he came to suffer, die and rise again as a gift of grace to us. How marvelous that God became man on our behalf!

John 10:9-11. Why did Jesus really come? It wasn’t to be celebrated as a cute baby in a manger with shepherds and wise men standing all around. He came to bring life to us, to be the good Shepherd.
