Every month, we post news and updates from the What’s In The Bible? team! There are a lot of exciting things happening!
Halloween, Fall Festival, All Saints Day…looking for resources for your kids?
In acknowledgment of the 800 pound pumpkin in the room, we recognize Halloween can be a tricky subject for many families. To help with this topic, we’ve posted a blog sharing the history and meaning of Halloween and how we as Christians can respond to it. If you do celebrate Halloween, we’ve also posted access to a Halloween Costume and Candy download pack which includes the goods to help create your very own Buck Denver or Sunday School Lady Halloween costume and provides What’s in the Bible? stickers for the candy you hand out to help share the series.

Phil Vischer and Buck Denver Asks…What’s in the Bible? at Oak Pointe Church
In early September, Phil was invited to speak at Oak Pointe Church in Novi, Michigan. Oak Pointe has shared great enthusiasm for the series and used Phil’s visit to kick off a year long, church-wide Buck Denver Asks…What’s in the Bible? “family impact strategy.” OPC families will be covering one volume per month. The church has provided the DVDs to over 400 families thanks to the help of church funds and member donations. Their first order of 400 copies of Volume 1 was so popular, they had to place an additional order to keep up with the demand!
Val Herriman, Director of Children’s Ministry helped spearhead the efforts surrounding this event. See below the church’s WITB display with a looping promotional video for the series during Phil’s visit and take a look at the video shared with families. They loved having Phil speak and are excited to begin their journey through the Bible!
Amazon Instant and Vimeo
We’ve had a lot of requests to make Buck Denver Asks…What’s in the Bible? available on Amazon Instant and Vimeo. We hear you! The full series (Volumes 1-12 and Christmas) is now up on Vimeo! We’re awaiting final approval from Amazon Instant, but the series should be available there soon, too. We hope you enjoy even more ways to watch Buck Denver and friends!

…and the Team Spotlight
Over the next few months, we thought we’d take the time to introduce you to the team of people who work alongside Phil every day to make your Buck Denver Asks…What’s in the Bible? experience the best one. This week, we want to spotlight Erick Goss.
Erick is Phil’s business partner and is Executive Producer of Buck Denver Asks…What’s in the Bible? Before working with Phil, Erick had a multi-faceted career that included flying helicopters, acting as Pentagon spokesperson and managing Amazon’s book business. Erick graduated from the US Naval Academy and the University of Michigan and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University. He and his wife Lisa live in Brentwood, Tennessee and have three daughters (ages 5, 7 and 9). All three of his girls are big fans of Buck Denver and Friends and provide first-hand insight into the daily decisions the What’s in the Bible? team is making in the development of helpful resources for Christian families. He and his family attend St. John’s Anglican Church, a church they helped plant in Brentwood. Erick also enjoys mountain biking and playing and watching soccer.
