2 Corinthians 4:18 – Verse of the Day 4/12/14

2 Corinthians 4:18 Verse of the Day

We live in a world where everything is disposable. We eat on paper plates, our clothes are always wearing out, and even the coolest phones have to be replaced all the time because a cooler one comes out every few months. This is what it means to live in a transient world. It comes and it goes.

So can you even begin to imagine what it means for anything to be eternal? God is eternal, and this verse says that the unseen things of faith are eternal. In a world where everything fades, God remains strong and eternal, and He invites us to share in this eternal life by faith.

Spend some time in prayer asking God for the ability to see through the things that come and go so that you might focus on what is eternally valuable. Ask the Lord to give you the wisdom, the faith, and the strength to follow up and to know the difference.

Oh how we need to long for and look for those things which are eternal--the unseen--instead of all the "stuff" around us.
