Deuteronomy 1:30 Verse of the Day 11/18/13
Moses offered this reminder to the people as they prepared to enter the Promised Land. Just as God would promise Joshua that the battle belonged to the Lord (Joshua 1:6-9), the same assurance is given here. The Lord promised to bring His people into His holy land, and that promise was sure and trustworthy. The God who promises to protect is worthy of our trust, for no enemy can stand against Him.
Although we believe in our heads that God protects us at all times, when life is difficult we are tempted to forget this reality in our hearts. As you pray, remind yourself that God has promised to give us all we need, although it may not be all we want. Pray that you would align your desires with God’s desires and that He would enable you to trust in His protection.
