Isaiah 46:4 – Verse of the Day 9/16/13

Isaiah 46 is a prophecy of the coming destruction of Babylon.  Isaiah calls for Israel to believe that God will deliver them from their oppressors.  Just as God created his people and was sovereign over their birth and infancy, he is likewise sovereign throughout their lives and sovereign in their old age and even death.  Therefore, Isaiah calls the people to trust that God will be faithful to his promises to protect and deliver them.

God is always with us, and there is never a moment when we are not under His care.  Nothing happens apart from His will, and He promises to work all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).  As you pray, thank the Lord for his protective care of your life, and for His good plan for you.  Pray for the strength to trust His future plan for you even when your present circumstances are difficult.
