Jeremiah 10:23 Verse of the Day 11/2/13

Jeremiah 10 deals with a choice for Israel. They could either serve the one true God or serve a false idol. The following chapter reveals that Israel made the wrong choice, breaking God’s covenant with them by choosing worship false gods. This verse is part of a brief prayer that separates these two sections. Jeremiah’s prayer for the people is that they would realize the folly of following their own wisdom, and that they would choose instead to follow God’s wisdom.

Spend some time in prayer thanking God for his mercy in forgiving us in spite of our disobedience. Ask Him to give you a heart that longs to serve Him and seek Him. Pray that you would believe His wisdom rather than the world’s false wisdom.
