Luke 19:10 – Verse of the Day 7/10/13
This verse concludes the account of Jesus’ interaction with Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus was a tax collector, reviled by his fellow Jews and considered the worst of sinners. And yet when he longed to see Jesus, Jesus announced that this was a sign of his faith. Although Zacchaeus was lost, he is now considered a “son of Abraham” (19:9), part of God’s family, and one whom Jesus came to save.
Jesus came to save lost sinners like us. Spend some time in prayer, asking God to give you a humble heart, to make you aware of your sin, and to share Zacchaeus’ longing to see Jesus. Thank God that the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.
