Psalm 103:12 – Verse of the Day 3/14/14

Psalm 103 is a song of thanksgiving for God’s works of redemption.  Although the Old Testament often focuses on God’s earthly redemption of His people from Egypt, here the focus explicitly anticipates God’s ultimate redemption of His people from sin.  God promises to remove our sin totally and completely.  An infinite distance separates the east and the west, and likewise our sins are removed to an infinite distance.

Nothing can separate us from God’s love because he has separated us from our sin.  We were previously alienated from God, but our relationship is restored to perfect union through the work of Jesus for us.  Praise God because he has given us salvation by forgiving our sins.  As you pray, thank the Lord for what He has done for you!
