Psalm 105:43 – Verse of the Day 4/4/13
Psalm 105 is a historical song that recounts the mighty acts of God from the time of the patriarchs to the entrance to the promised land. The central theme of the song is God’s faithfulness to his covenant promises. This Psalm is quoted at length in 1 Chronicles 16, a description of worship in the Temple. As a result we can conclude that singing about God’s special care for his people was a regular part of Old Testament worship and the inspiration for songs of praise.
Just as God’s mighty acts caused the people of Israel to burst into praise, we are called to remember God’s faithfulness and thank him in similar fashion. Spend some time thanking God for his care in your own life, thinking of specific examples of his faithfulness.
