Psalm 119:64 – Verse of the Day 6/18/14

Can you imagine a world where no one ever broke the law? What would such a world look like? Now imagine a world in which everyone followed God’s laws. What would that world look like? Would there be conflict? Would there be broken relationships?

This verse is in the middle of a passage that reminds us that God’s commands are good for us. If we actually followed them our lives would be better. Our relationships with others would be restored. Of course, we fail to follow God’s commands, our relationships often suffer as a result, and this is why we need a savior.

While we often fail to love God or follow His commands, his love for us is steadfast and constant. Spend some time in prayer asking God to forgive you for failing to believe Him and His loving commands. Thank Him for His grace and mercy to you when you fail. Ask for the mind, the will, and the strength to hear Him, believe Him, and follow Him. Thank God that He restores our relationship with Himself and with one another.
