Psalm 146:2 – Verse of the Day 1/2/14
Psalm 146 opens the five “Hallelujah Psalms” that close the psalter. Each of these psalms begins and closes with the word “Hallelujah” and focuses on giving praise to God. Psalm 146 encourages us to put our trust in God rather than in earthly powers that come and go. As long as we live, the eternal God who does not change is worth of our trust and praise.
As you pray, remember that the God you pray to is both infinite and eternal. Nothing lies outside His control, and His purposes are both perfect and unfailing. When you are tempted to doubt because your earthly circumstances are far less than perfect, ask the Lord to remind you of the goodness of his eternal plan for your salvation. Praise the Lord as long as you live!
