Psalm 34:15 – Verse of the Day 11/25/14
Have you ever desperately prayed to God for something and it did not seem like God answered? It is hard to know why God does not always deliver us from pain and suffering, and it is even harder when we are praying for somebody else that we love. Yet the Bible consistently teaches that God is always faithful in answering all our prayers. How can this be?
Psalm 34 is a song of thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness in answering prayer. It is a beautiful psalm, and this verse lies close to its heart. Because God has redeemed us we no longer need to fear in the worldly sense, for God sees our troubles and promises to save us from them. The psalmist believes God in the present, because he knows about his faithfulness in the past. He calls us to fear God in the biblical sense, offering Him our praise and thanks for all He has done for us.
As you pray, rest assured that the Lord has promised to hear you. Even if you do not know what to pray, remember that the Lord promises to intercede for us and give us words. Spend some time thanking God for His promise to hear us, and His faithfulness in doing so.
