Psalm 69:32 – Verse of the Day 2/19/15
Sometimes when our circumstances change our mood changes them. When good things happen we feel good, when bad things happen we feel bad, and sometimes we easily switch between those feelings as we ride the rollercoaster of life.
In Psalm 69, David cries out to God to deliver him from his enemies. The Psalm opens with an expression of despair, but by its end the mood transitions to one of praise. David confidently expects God to hear and answer his prayer, and he takes comfort from the firm belief that He will do so. The hearts of the poor in spirit are revived by faith in the living God, and our hope is the same regardless of our circumstances.
Do you seek God in the midst of difficult circumstances, or are you tempted to rely upon something or someone else? God desires that we would turn to him in times of trouble, and he promises to give us strength. Spend some time thanking Him for this promise and asking Him to help you believe it more firmly.
