Isaiah 55:12 – Verse of the Day 8/11/12

 
Isaiah 55 is an invitation to the people of Israel to return to the restored Zion (spoken of in chapter 54). God used Isaiah to call the people out of Babylon and back to Israel. Many of the images in these chapters relate directly to the restoration of God’s people, but many of them are referenced in the New Testament as well. The return from exile was only partly fulfilled when the people of Israel returned to the Promised Land. For the authors of the New Testament it is ultimately fulfilled through the eternal redemption of Christ.

Spend some time in prayer thanking God that he has prepared an eternal home for you. Take comfort when you remember that nothing in this present life can separate you from the love of God and experience of His presence in heaven. Praise God for his good provision!
